Paula's Choice folded squalane into a fragrance-free cream with omega-3/6/9 chia and flaxseed oils and shea butter, so you got the emollient plus a proper barrier-repair cream in one step.
It was aimed at dry and sensitive skin, and it delivered: richer than a plain oil, fragrance-free, and comfortable under makeup. Squalane was one of several actives rather than the star, but it was meaningfully present and the whole complex worked together. It held our best-squalane-moisturizer pick from launch until September 2026.
The brand has since discontinued it. We have kept this review online because people still search the name and deserve a straight answer about what happened, but there is nothing to buy here any more — the notice above links to the cream we recommend in its place.
