Black Friday is a bad time to make a skincare decision from scratch and a good time to buy something you'd already decided on. That's the whole philosophy of this page. It doesn't shout about doorbusters; it tells you what each brand we cover has actually done in past Novembers, with a source for every figure, so you can judge whether waiting is worth it — and it lists our current top picks with their live Amazon price, so you have a real number to compare any deal against.
Two rules we hold to here that most deal pages don't. First, no invented discounts: every percentage on this page comes from a fetched source and is attributed to a specific past year. Second, no price predictions: we don't know what any brand will do in 2026, and we won't pretend to. What we can tell you is the pattern, and the pattern is more useful than a guess.
Key dates on the record (2025)
For calibration, here's how the 2025 season ran, from the brands' and retailers' own announcements. Black Friday 2026 falls on November 27, with Cyber Monday on November 30; the 2025 pattern suggests the sales themselves start earlier than that, but the 2026 dates below the table are unconfirmed until the brands publish them.
What historically discounts in this category
The Ordinary: exactly one sale a year, and it's November
Deciem, The Ordinary's parent, has run an anti-Black-Friday campaign since 2019: instead of a one-day doorbuster, it discounts every product by 23% for the whole of November (the campaign has been called 'Knowvember' and, more recently, 'Slowvember'), and closes its own website and stores to transactions on Black Friday itself. In 2025 the window ran from November 1 to December 7, with a cap of five units per product. The discount applied on The Ordinary's own site and in Deciem's standalone stores — the brand's FAQ says it was not available at Deciem counters inside retail partners. That matters for Amazon shoppers: Amazon's price for The Ordinary is set separately, and the live price on this site tells you what it is today.
The practical read: if you want The Ordinary brand-direct at a discount, November is the only month on record that it happens. But the products are cheap to begin with, so 23% of a budget squalane is a small absolute saving — see the buy-now-or-wait section below.
Biossance: frequent sales, and November has been the deepest
Biossance is the opposite pattern. A deal tracker's 2025 log shows brand-direct sales at 25% or 30% off in June, July, August and October 2025, plus a Singles' Day sale in November — and a 30% off Black Friday event running from November 19 to December 2, 2025. The brand's own blog describes its Black Friday period as a multi-day event with the deepest cuts on value sets. The 2025 log also records a standalone deal on the 100% Squalane Oil in October 2025. In short: Biossance goes on sale often, and November has been the reliable deep one.
Paula's Choice: a sitewide November sale, two years running
Paula's Choice ran 25% off sitewide for Black Friday 2024 (excluding sets, through December 3, 2024) and 30% off sitewide for Cyber Week 2025 (through December 7, 2025), both brand-direct, both logged by a deal tracker at the time. That's two consecutive years of a sitewide November discount — the strongest 'wait for November' case among the brands we cover, for a premium-priced barrier cream.
Naturium: 25% off everything, and half off select items, in 2024
Naturium's Black Friday 2024 sale, logged November 24, 2024, was 25% off everything with 50% off select items brand-direct; through 2025 the same tracker shows smaller 20% events at Ulta and brand-direct across the year. The pattern: regular small discounts, with the November one the largest on record.
Sephora: a member event that comes before Black Friday
Sephora's Holiday Savings Event isn't Black Friday — in 2025 it ran October 31 to November 10, with 20% off for Rouge, 15% for VIB and 10% for Insider members, sitewide, and a cap of three The Ordinary products per transaction. Biossance and The Ordinary are both stocked there. If the recipient of a gift has a Sephora tier, the member event has historically been the earlier window.
What rarely discounts, and what we simply don't know
Budget 100% squalane oils. The Ordinary's oil is discounted brand-direct only in November, and only by the Slowvember 23%. We have no verified sale record for Timeless or Good Molecules — that isn't a claim they never discount, it's a statement that we couldn't find a documented brand-run event to cite, so we won't invent one. Amazon's prices for all three move on their own schedule; the live price on this site is the number to trust.
Drugstore brands. CeraVe pricing on Amazon moves through coupons, multi-buy deals and Subscribe & Save across the whole year rather than in one November event. We don't have a verified, brand-run Black Friday record for CeraVe, so we don't publish one.
Everything else we cover. Youth To The People, The Outset, belif, Pyunkang Yul and Pacifica: data unavailable. We looked for documented brand-run Black Friday events and could not verify one for any of them at the time of writing. Their live Amazon prices are on their category pages.
Retailer prices are not brand-direct sale prices. A brand's '30% off' applies on its own website. Amazon's price for the same product is set independently and may already sit below the brand's list price — or above the brand's sale price. Always compare a November deal against the live Amazon figure on this site, which is dated.

- Know the everyday price first. That's what the live prices above are for. A 'was' price on a deal banner is a list price, not what the thing usually sells for.
- Compare per ounce, not per bottle. Sizes vary enormously in this category; our roundups compute cost per ounce live. A discounted small bottle can still lose to a full-price big one — see squalane oil price.
- Remember the molecule is the same. A 100% squalane is a single ingredient; a deep discount on a premium bottle doesn't make it a better squalane than the budget one. It makes it a cheaper nice bottle.
- Check fragrance before you check the discount. The most common reason a skincare gift gets shelved is scent. Our sensitive-skin gift guide lists which products we cover contain fragrance.
- Mind the end dates. In 2025, The Ordinary's window and Paula's Choice's Cyber Week both ran to December 7. Shipping cutoffs for holiday delivery come soon after — the brand-direct sale isn't much use if the parcel arrives in January.
- Read set contents. The deepest percentages are on bundles. Half a set unused is a worse deal than one product at full price.

Instead it has discounted all its products by 23% for the whole of November; in 2025 the window ran November 1 to December 7, brand-direct and in Deciem stores, not at retail-partner counters. We don't know the 2026 dates until the brand publishes them.
Does Biossance go on sale for Black Friday?
In 2025 a deal tracker logged a 30% off Black Friday sale from November 19 to December 2, and the brand's own blog describes its Black Friday period as a multi-day event with the deepest cuts on value sets. Biossance also ran 25-30% sales several other times in 2025, so November isn't its only window. Nothing about 2026 is confirmed.
Is it better to buy squalane oil now or wait for Black Friday?
For a budget 100% squalane like The Ordinary, Good Molecules or Timeless, buy now — the bottle is cheap, a percentage off it saves very little, and the ingredient is identical all year. For premium products like Biossance's rose oil or eye cream, or Paula's Choice's barrier cream, the documented November discounts are worth waiting for if the timing works.
